Blessed that I have places to go and the means to get there. Blessed that my children have made great choices in friends and I can trust them with others. Blessed to have family and friends who love, listen and laugh with me unconditionally. Blessed to have made meaningful connections, both in person and through social media. Blessed that I have the freedom to share with my family, my children, why we love God and why He loves them more.
We are constantly on the go. Connecting on the go. Eating on the go (not always a wise choice). Sharing on the go. Praying on the go. As I shuttle and travel and go, go, go, my prayers are silent (but not always) and they are many. Prayers for safety, health, and the well-being of the ones I love. Constant prayer. Constant communication with my Lord. Each morning as we set out, my children and I have created the tradition of "model" praying as we drive away from the home. I pray, they repeat. As they have grown, now they pray, and I repeat. The mornings we are true to this tradition are the sweetest.
The commuting car can also be a quiet zone. Over the years my husband and I have made many life decisions on the go, even if it is just around the block. That small intimate space doesn't allow us to walk away, or turn our backs when the conversations get tough. So immediate and intimate is that space, that we are forced to be honest, totally and completely honest. With each other, with our children, with God.
The Lord and I have had many conversations as I shuttle, scurry and chauffeur. I've relied on His strength, sang words of praise, cried tears of fear and of joy, all in that small space. He finds us even in our small places and whispers softly, "I am here. I have always been here. I love you."
So my closing thoughts are this...as I go about the daily busyness of life, being a chauffeur (among so many other things), I thank God He's been with me as I go. Sitting along side me, letting me know that if I follow His lead, I'll get to where He wants me to go.
He is my life Chauffeur.Deuteronomy 13:4
"You shall follow the LORD your God and fear Him; and you shall keep His commandments, listen to His voice, serve Him, and cling to Him."
